Homemade cleaning solution for a remington shaver

Has anyone figured out the ingredients in the Remington cleaning solution? I would like to make my own if possible. The filter looks as if it could be cleaned out and reused several times. Thanks,
Tman

Welcome aboard, Tman.
Just do a search here and look for the homemade Braun solution. It would probably work just as well on your Remington.

Out of curiously, what is the filter supposed to filter out of the solution?
The hairs, being heavier than the fluid, should naturally sink to the bottom over time, and the cleaning cycle is "overnight" so it'd have time to settle out.
And, if I understand it correctly, the solution is alcohol based, so it's a inherently germicidal.
So, what does the filter actually do?

The filter catches the stubble to keep it from getting into the pump that circulates the cleaning solution. There is a screen on the pump intake but I assume the people at Remington did not want this filter to clog with stubble because it is such a small screen. The cleaning process for the model I have is no more than an hour. The system cleans first, then it recharges the battery or you can choose to charge without cleaning. It works well but it uses up the solution pretty fast if you clean the shaver after each use.

There's a pump? That seems like overkill, since the head is already agitating the solution during the cleaning process. Nevertheless, a filtration system would keep the pump's innards clean and functional.
Hmmm...interesting.
As for the timing, I didn't mean that it took all day to clean the razor...only that, unless you shave unusually often, the solution would have "overnight" to settle out.
Thanks for such a quick response!
