Can too much mineral oil be a problem
« Thread started on: Aug 7th, 2006, 2:56pm »

The other day I was trying to lubricate my Norelco with a drop of mineral oil on each head, as manual suggests and it accidentally came out too fast and amounted to a squirt per head rather than a drop. My question is: Could this potentailly affect the shave and or damage the razor? The manual did say just a drop, perhaps monthly.
Thanks

For a non-washable shaver,if you used too much you might consider removing the cutters and combs, being very careful not mix them up. Soak them in alcohol to remove the excess mineral oil, lay them on a towell to dry, and re-assemble. I would think only one drop is needed. An eye dropper you can buy at a drug store works great.

For a washable shaver, rinsing with hot water should remove some of the oil. If it does not, try the alcohol as mentioned.

Hope this helps. Some others might have other suggestions for removing the excess oil.
